Anxiety and depression

I work with affect-focused ISTDP therapy which makes a difference between 'thinking and knowing' a lot about anxiety and depression and 'feeling and knowing' about emotional processes could reduce anxiety and depression.

Those who seek therapy may have experiences of previous therapies where they feel that they have learned a lot ('thinking and knowing') about anxiety and depression but the symptoms have remained.

Sometimes the client and I primarily work with a focus on relational and emotional processes according to ISTDP. Other times we work based on a combination of ISTDP and a cognitive approach. Any ISTDP therapy involves the two approaches, but they can be more or less emphasized. How the client and I work depends on what changes the client wishes to do and what is needed for the changes to take place.
