Seeking Therapy? Maria Sandgren
Private Psychologist in Stockholm

There are many reasons to seek therapy.

Listed below are some of the most common.

Anxiety and Worry

Anxiety and worry are usually characterized by worrying that things will go wrong. Overthinking and being agitated are two symptoms, among many others. Physical symptoms such as restlessness, difficulty sleeping, and palpitations can also be signs of anxiety. When someone says that 'it's a lot of emotions', it's usually more about having many thoughts simultaneously and not being able to find direction, but overthinking and worrying instead.

Depression

Being depressed usually means feeling down, having low self-esteem (negative thoughts, low self-worth), and feeling unmotivated. There may be a lack of energy and a desire to withdraw from the world. Others may describe themselves as being more agitated and staying active to keep depression, and also anxiety at bay.

Relationships

What clients want help with in their relationships varies, but they want the relationships to improve. It can be about relationships in the present and also past experiences of relationships. Some people tend to over-adapt to how others want them to be, while others have problems with closeness even if they want to be in a stable relationship.

Migraines, Fatigues, and Stress

Migraines, fatigue, stress reactions, and other physical symptoms share some characteristics. Clients often report a range of symptoms (cognitive, emotional, physical) and that the symptoms have been present for some time. Some of the symptoms are related to the stress of suffering from chronic conditions, while other symptoms are related to migraines or other physical conditions.
